- Hello friends. In this post we have a collection of FAQ for Facebook groups. It contain instructions how to do to join Facebook groups.

- Note that all information below are directly from Facebook. Our efforts is to bring them close to our users.

How do I link other groups to a Facebook group I admin?

If you're a group admin, you can recommend other groups by linking them to your group.
To link a group:
  1. Tap  in the bottom right of Facebook and tap Groups then Your groups, then select your group. If you don't see Groups, tap See more.
  2. Tap  Manage then scroll down and tap  Group settings.
  3. Below Manage Advanced Settings, tap Recommended groups.
  4. Tap add in the top right and tap Recommend existing group.
  5. Search for the group's name then tap Recommend.
To unlink a group:
  1. Tap  in the bottom right of Facebook and tap Groups then Your groups, then select your group. If you don't see Groups, tap See more.
  2. Tap  Manage then scroll down and tap  Group settings.
  3. Below Manage Advanced Settings, tap Recommended groups.
  4. Find the group you want to unlink and tap 
  5. Tap Remove from recommended groups, then tap Remove.

How do I invite new members to a Facebook group?

There are a few ways new members can be invited to join a Facebook group:
  • Invite from the group: Admins and members can invite their Facebook friends to join a group by selecting Invite from the group.
  • Invite with email: Admins can use email to invite anyone to join their group, whether or not they’re Facebook friends.
  • Invite with link (only available for private hidden groups): If the group is a private hidden group, admins and members can use a link to invite anyone to join their group, whether or not they’re Facebook friends, if the admins allow.
Once someone is invited to join a group, they'll be able to preview the group before deciding if they'd like to join the group, unless they were invited to the group by email or invited to a private hidden group with a link. If someone is previewing the group, they won't be included in the total member count.
Note: If you invite people to a group, a group admin may need to approve the request before they can join. Pages can't be invited to join groups as group members.
Admins and members can only invite a limited number of people to join each day.

Invite from the group

Admins and members can invite their Facebook friends to join a group.
  1. Tap menu in the top right of Facebook and tap Groups then Your groups, then select your group. If you don't see Groups, tap See more.
  2. Tap + Invite below the group name.
  3. Tap Invite next to the names of the friends you want to invite. You can also type a friend's name in the search bar.
  4. Tap Done.

Invite with email

Admins can invite new members to a group by email.
The email will include a link to the Facebook group, where the person can confirm that they want to join. In public groups and private visible groups, they’ll be automatically approved. In private hidden groups, they’ll have to be approved by a group admin. Only the person who received the email can join the group with that link. The link will expire after 28 days.
  1. Tap menu in the top right of Facebook and tap Groups then Your groups, then select your group. If you don't see Groups, tap See more.
  2. Tap + Invite below the group name.
  3. Select Invite with email.
  4. Add email addresses.
  5. Tap Send.

Invite with link (only available for private hidden groups

Admins and members can use a link to invite others to a private hidden group if the admins allow. The link can be shared on or off Facebook.
Once someone receives the invite to join the group, they’ll then have to request to join and be approved by a group admin. Any Facebook user with the link can see the group’s About info and request to join.
The link will expire after either 48 hours or 20 people click on it, whichever comes first. After the link expires, you can create a new link.
Keep in mind that people who receive the link from you might understand you're a member of this group.
  1. Tap menu in the top right of Facebook and tap Groups then Your groups, then select your group. If you don't see Groups, tap See more.
  2. Tap Invite below the cover photo.
  3. Tap Invite with link.
  4. Tap the link to copy it, then share it. Alternatively, tap Share in Messenger or More share options.

How do I manage membership for a Facebook group I admin?

Public groups

In public groups, people can become members without admin approval, and visitors (people who aren’t members) can post and comment if admins allow.
You can choose to approve members and visitors as participants before they publish a post or comment for the first time. Once someone is approved as a participant, you can still require admin approval of their future posts.

Private groups

If you're an admin of a private group, you can choose to turn on membership approval for your group. This means admins or moderators will have to approve membership requests before someone can join the group.
To make approving members easier, you can use Admin Assist to automatically approve or decline membership requests by setting up criteria such as automatically approving people who answered the membership questions or automatically declining people with new accounts.
If you’re an admin of a private hidden group, you can choose to allow people to invite new members to your group with a link. If you allow invitations with a link, you can choose who can invite with a link — anyone in the group, only admins, or admins and moderators — and you can disable active links.

To turn on membership approval:

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Group Settings in the left menu.
  3. Below Manage Membership, click next to Who Can Approve Member Requests.
  4. Click Only admins and moderators then click Save.
You can set up membership questions to help you decide whether or not to approve a member.

To set up membership questions:

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Membership Questions below People in the left menu.
  3. Click Add Question to add your first question, or Create to add a new question.
  4. Next to Group Rules, click  to ask members to agree to the Group Rules.

To approve or decline members:

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Member Requests below People in the left menu.
  3. You can then:
    • Approve or Decline each request.
    • Approve All or Decline All.
  4. To leave feedback for someone you declined, click more next to their request, then select Decline with feedback. When you send feedback, it will say that the feedback came from “an admin,” but it won’t disclose your name.

To automatically approve or decline membership requests with Admin Assist:

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Admin Assist in the left menu.
  3. Below Manage people, click Add next to Approve member request if and/or Decline member request if.
  4. Select criteria.
  5. Click Apply criteria.
Admin Assist will only automatically approve a member request if all criteria are met. If a request meets both sets of criteria for approving and declining a request, the request will be approved.

To allow or not allow invitations with a link to your private hidden group:

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Group Settings in the left menu.
  3. Below Set Up Group, click next to Invite with link.
  4. Click  next to Invite with link to allow or not allow invitations with a link.
  5. If you allow invitations with a link, select who can invite with a link: Only admins, Admins and moderators or Anyone in the group.
  6. Click Save.

To turn off an active link:

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click more at the top right.
  3. Select Share.
  4. Select Turn off link, then Turn Off to confirm.

How to Welcome new members to a Facebook group you manage?

Group admins can welcome new members to their Facebook group with:
  • New member intro, which is a message from the admins that automatically appears to new members when they visit the group for the first time after joining. The intro can also include the group rules and/or a prompt encouraging new members to post.
  • Welcome post, which is a post that welcomes the new members and appears to everyone in the group. The prompt to create a welcome post will only be available if new members have joined in the past 7 days.

Set up new member intro

Admins can turn on, turn off or edit the new member intro at any time.
  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Select Group settings on the left. You might have to click Manage first.
  3. Click see more next to New member intro.
    • To turn it on: Click Get started then write an intro message and choose whether to include the group rules. Click Publish.
    • To turn it off: Click next to Show intro message to turn it off. Alternatively, click Edit message then Delete intro message.
    • To edit: Click Edit message, make your changes, then click Update intro.

Set up welcome post

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Members (for private groups) or People (for public groups) at the top of the group. You might need to select More first.
  3. Click Write welcome post on the right.
  4. Customize the message and click Post.
The prompt to create a welcome post will only be available if new members have joined in the past 7 days.
Alternatively, use Admin Assist to automatically create a regular welcome post:
  1. Follow these instructions to go to Admin Assist.
  2. Scroll down and click Add next to Publish a welcome post.
  3. Follow the prompts.
The post will be created at the rate the admin chooses (example: weekly). 24 hours before it’s published, it will appear in Scheduled posts, where the admin who set it up can view, edit or delete it. If other admins want to edit the post, they have to delete it from Admin Assist then re-add it.

How do I make someone an admin or moderator of my Facebook group?

Current group admins can make someone an admin or moderator.

To make someone an admin or moderator of your group:

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Members below your group's cover photo. If you don't see Members, click More.
  3. Click  next to the person you want to make an admin or moderator.
  4. Select Invite as admin or Invite as moderator, then click Send Invite.
To cancel an invitation to make someone an admin or moderator of your group, go to Invited Admins & Moderators. Then click  next to their name and select Cancel admin invite or Cancel moderator invite.
Group members must be active in the group in order to be made an admin. Keep in mind that once you make someone an admin, they'll be able to remove members or admins, add new admins and edit the group description and settings. Learn how to make your Page an admin of your group.
Note:
  • In groups without any active admins, Facebook may identify and invite eligible group member(s) to become admins. We consider an admin to be inactive if they haven’t moderated or engaged with the group for an extended period. In selecting eligible members to be added as admins, we consider such factors as their level of engagement and whether they have a history of Community Standards violations.
  • If a group doesn’t have any admins, a member may be able to claim the admin role.
  • In some cases, gray accounts can’t become admins of groups. If you have a gray account and want to become a group admin, you can create a new account.
  • You can choose to feature a specific admin on your group’s cover photo.

How do I invite my Page fans and followers to join my Facebook group?

Classic Pages

If you have a verified Page linked to a group, you can invite fans of that Page to the linked group.
To invite Page fans to your group:
  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. To the right of + Invite, click  and select your Page. If you don't see , make sure your Page is linked to your group.
  3. Click + Invite.
  4. Type the names of the Page fans you want to invite to your linked group and click Send Invites. You can manually invite up to 1,000 contacts per week.
  5. To enable group invites to automatically be sent to recently engaged Page fans, click  next to Automatic Invites then click Confirm.
You can only enable automatic invites for one linked group at a time. Once you confirm which group you want to enable automatic invites for, you can’t change your decision for 7 days. People will receive an automatic invite if they:
  • Follow the Page
  • And recently engaged with the Page
  • And haven’t been previously invited to join the group
Note: If you've invited a person before, you won't be able to invite them again.

New Pages Experience

You can invite followers of your Page to join a group that the Page is an admin of.
To invite Page followers to your group:
  1. If your account isn’t already set to your Page, click  at the top right of Facebook, click Switch Profile and select your Page.
  2. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  3. Click Invite.
  4. Type the names of the Page followers you want to invite to your group, click their names, and click Send Invites. You can manually invite up to 1,000 contacts per week.
  5. To enable group invites to automatically be sent to recently engaged Page followers, click  next to Automatic Invites then click Confirm.
You can only enable automatic invites for one group at a time. Once you confirm which group you want to enable automatic invites for, you can’t change your decision for 7 days. People will receive an automatic invite if they:
  • Follow the Page
  • And recently engaged with the Page
  • And haven’t been previously invited to join the group

How do I find or become a mentor in a Facebook group?

Mentorships in Facebook groups are going away. Mentorship conversations will still be available in Messenger.

  • For groups that don’t already have the mentorship feature:
    • The mentorship feature can no longer be added to a group.
  • For groups that already have the mentorship feature:
    • You can no longer become a mentor or request a mentor.
    • Existing pairs can continue until May 29, 2023.
    • On May 29, 2023, mentorship will be removed from all groups and mentor profiles will go away.
    • Mentorship conversations will still be available in Messenger.

As an alternative to mentorship:

If group admins add the mentorship feature to their group, group members can share knowledge one-on-one with other members.
Mentorship can last up to 10 weeks. Once completed, you'll still be able to see everything you and your partner shared.
Group members must be 18 or older to offer or request mentorship. Group admins must be 18 or older in order for their group to offer mentorship.
Admins can view metrics about mentorship in their group through group insights.

To find a mentor

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Mentorship below the cover photo.
  3. Search for a mentor, then click Start Conversation to reach out.
If you sign up, you'll also be contacted by group members who want to mentor you, and you can decide if you want that person to mentor you. Once you're paired with a mentor you'll be connected in a Messenger chat.
If your group already has mentors, you can also search for a mentor by looking at the list of people that have already signed up to offer help. Select Request Mentor to reach out.

To become a mentor

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Mentorship below the cover photo.
  3. Click Become a Mentor on the right side.
  4. Add some information about yourself and the topics you can help people with, then click Submit.
You'll be notified when people are interested in mentorship, and you can decide who you want to mentor.
You can also reach out directly to anyone you'd like to mentor. If your group already has members interested in mentorship, go to the All Mentees section and select Start Conversation.

To end a mentorship

  1. From your Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don't see Groups, click See more.
  2. Click Mentorship below Activity and Insights in the left menu.
  3. Below People You're Mentoring, find the mentorship you'd like to end.
  4. Click more and select End Mentorship.

To report a mentor

To report a mentor, click Mentorship, click more on the mentor you want to report, select Give feedback or report, select what you’d like to report them for, then select Done.
We may restrict which groups can access mentorship and which members can be mentors and mentees. If you or your group can’t access or no longer have access to mentorship, it might be because you or the group admins aren’t 18 or older or have new or inactive accounts, or because of violations of our Terms of Service, Community Standards or other policies.

How to Invite group members to a Facebook event?

Members of a group can create group events and invite other group members to join. When a group event is created, it appears in the group's discussion and members can choose to join.
If someone removes themselves from a group event, they can't be added again.

Invite group members to a Facebook event

  1. From your feed, click Groups. You may need to click See more first.
  2. Select your group.
  3. Click Browse, then click Events in the left menu.
  4. Go to the event you want to invite people to, then select the group members you want to invite.
  5. Click Send invites.

How to Invite people to your Facebook event?

If you're a host of an event, you can invite your friends to the event. As an event host, you can choose different privacy settings for who can see, join or invite guests to your event.
You can also invite people who are off of Facebook or don’t have a Facebook account. You can send them an invitation through email or text message (SMS).

Invite people to a private or public event

  1. Click Events on the left side of your homepage. You may have to click See More.
  2. Go to the event.
  3. Click Invite below the cover photo. You can search for people by name, email address or phone number.
  4. Click your friends' names to invite them individually. You can also filter by groups, locations and past events in the left menu.
  5. Click Send Invites.

Invite people who don’t have a Facebook account

This feature is not available for all events right now.
  1. Click Events on the left side of your homepage. You may have to click See More first.
  2. Select the event you want to invite people to.
  3. Click Invite below the cover photo.
  4. Select Invite with email or Invite with SMS.
  5. Enter the email or phone number of the person you want to invite.
    • To invite multiple people at one time, enter emails or phone numbers separated by a comma, space or new line, then click Add.
  6. Click Send Invites.
